We know that for most dj's, already in the game for some years, this will not represent an ace in the sleeve. However we're always inspired by the future, and when it comes to being able to get more insights in the way mixes are progressing, there's no point in walking away from harmonic mixing.

1. start by analyzing your tracks keys with one of the following software:
Mixed in Key
Traktor
Melodyne
key Finder
your DAW (FL Studio; Ableton; Reason etc.)
2. Make sure you are organizing your tracks in folder, or sort them by Initial Key. Initial Key field from metadata should be populated with what your software usually writes in it, so depending on which algorythm you will find more feasable, give it a go to write files metadate with that.
3. Consider detecting musical notes, instead of going with new models, so that you can get cross-software compatibility noting.
4. When Mixing, try to make progressions by listening to tracks first. Remember, this is only useful when your ear is also trained, and the whole purpose is to get your sense sharpened, rather than to memorize songs and keys. That will allow you more space, and more confidence while performing.
5. It's completely your choice in terms on how you construct your mix. There are some specifics that you might consider, before changing the key.
